How to Inspire, Encourage, and Empower Authenticity

Plurawl is a company on a mission. We don't just want to sell LatinX t-shirts and sweatshirts. We want to do so much more. It is encapsulated in our company's main goal: to inspire, encourage, and empower Latinx communities to be their authentic selves. This goal was so important that we wrote it down. You will even find it at the bottom of our homepage.

The goal is important enough that we should all do it. Plurawl will do its part; you can do your part. Together, we can work to improve our communities with more positivity than this country has ever seen before. Let us get started by discussing how to do it.

Inspiring Authenticity

The word 'inspire' can be tricky. Inspiration is a bit more emotional than intellectual, so it can be hard to define. Let us look at the Cambridge Dictionary to see what it has to say. It defines 'inspire' as follows:

• To make someone feel that they want to do something and can do it
• To make someone have a particular strong feeling or reaction.

Here at Plurawl, we want our sweatshirts and t-shirts to make you feel as though you can truly be authentic. We want our artwork, coffee mugs, and hats to invoke particularly strong feelings in you, feelings of pride about your Hispanic heritage and culture.

We also hope that our commitment to promoting authenticity within the LatinX community makes you feel proud to support our brand. If our merchandise and business model invoke feelings of LatinX pride, then we have succeeded in inspiring you.

Encouraging Authenticity

Next up is encouraging authenticity. Once again, we return to the Cambridge Dictionary for some context. Here is how the dictionary defines 'encourage':

• To make someone more likely to do something, or to make something more likely to happen
• To talk or behave in a way that gives someone confidence to do something.

To encourage you to be authentic is to take actions that make you more likely to practice authenticity by giving you the confidence to do so. Think of it this way: most of us are encouraged to do hard things when we are surrounded by other people who have already shown us the way. Their actions give us the confidence to try doing hard things ourselves.

Our brand aspires to encourage pride and authenticity in the LatinX community by demonstrating it ourselves. Our company exudes LatinX pride. We strive to be our authentic selves in the products we make, the messages we share, and the communities we reach. We do what we do in hopes that our actions will give you the confidence to do likewise.

Empowering Authenticity

Finally, we reach empowering authenticity. Let's go back to the Cambridge Dictionary one more time for a definition: to give someone official authority or the freedom to do something.

To be completely honest, you do not need official authority to be your authentic self. No one does. We see empowering as a direct result of inspiring and encouraging. If our brand and message inspires and encourages you to be authentic, one of the end results is that you'll feel you have the freedom to do just that.

In that sense, one of our t-shirts or sweatshirts can make you feel like you really can be authentic even in the most challenging environments. We hope that's the case. We aren't just selling clothing, coffee mugs, and posters to put some money in our pockets. We do what we do because we want to inspire, encourage, and empower the LatinX community to be truly authentic.
