¿Quién Tú Eres? – Do You Really Know?
We had no idea our ¿Quién Tú Eres? t-shirt would be one of our best sellers when we first released it. But here we are. Customers love this t-shirt for a whole lot of reasons. It is comfortable, it wears well, and it really looks good no matter what you wear with it. But for us, the most important aspect is the message.
¿Quién Tú Eres?: do you really know who you are at the core of your being? At the heart of authenticity is always being who you truly are. It is always being the same person you are when no one else is watching. But to be that person, you have to know that person. Maybe that means doing some soul searching. Perhaps it means digging around in the deepest parts of who you are to uncover hidden treasures.
Authenticity is more than a just t-shirt. Do not misunderstand, we want you to buy the ¿Quién Tú Eres? t-shirt – especially if it helps you express a desire for authenticity. But more importantly, we want you to get to know your true self. We want you to know who you are so that you can be proud of that person.
Clothing Covers You Up
If you stop and think about t-shirts and their main purpose, you discover a bit of irony. T-shirts are clothing, and clothing is meant to cover you up. But in your goal to become more authentic, how much do you really want to be covered? Obviously, there is a difference between being physically and spiritually covered.
We cover the physical body for obvious reasons. But there is no need to cover the spirit. You are more than just the body you live in. You are more than just what you look like, sound like, etc. You are what lives deep inside you. That is the person you need to find in order be truly authentic.
The Most Important Qualities
On the back of the ¿Quién Tú Eres? t-shirt is a list of qualities and character traits. Some of them are standard text while others are crossed out. We chose this design as a way to express the qualities and traits we believe add to authenticity, as well as others that seem to fly in the face of it.
As someone striving to be authentic, you get to choose what you believe are the most important qualities to possess. If you think it is important to be a mirror, then be one without compromise. If you believe code shifting is bad practice, don't do it.
Here at Plurawl, we are motivated by a fervent desire to help members of the LatinX community be authentically themselves. We know what that looks like to us. We know how we want to pass that vision on by way of our t-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts, artwork, and so on. We know who we are, and we are willing to let the entire world know.
A Work in Progress
If you aren't so sure who you truly are at your core, don't sweat it. You are a work in progress. Just the fact that you are striving for authenticity demonstrates you are on the right track. Now just go with it. Keep striving to learn more about yourself. Keep working to understand who you truly are. You will get there in time.
